Depositing Funds into Inmate Accounts

Inmate Canteen service to provide items for purchase by detainees.

Olmsted County uses an Inmate Canteen service to provide items for purchase by detainees. These include video time, phone call time, envelopes, stamps, paper, and vending machine food.

We cannot discuss details about a detainee's account status with family or friends. If the detainee has a negative balance, some or all of the funds that you deposit must be applied to the debt first.

Online

Sign up for a free account with Inmate Canteen. This is a secure site. After you log-in to your new account you can purchase credit for the detainee. The site will walk you through this process step by step.

The maximum amount is $500.00 per credit card, per detainee, per 30 days.

After you have purchased credits, the money is immediately available to the detainee.

In-Person

Come to either Work Release or the ADC

There are Kiosks (these look like a bank ATM) that you can use to put money into the detainee's account. These are located at:

Work Release Facility
140 4th Street South East
Rochester, MN 55904

or

Adult Detention Center
101 4th Street South East
Rochester, MN 55904

If you come after regular business hours: Use the intercom and tell them that you want to add funds to a detainee's account.

The Kiosk accepts cash, credit card, and debit card.
