Olmsted County Parks and Trails launches survey and invites input on future of county parks
Surveys will be accepted through August 31, 2025
Olmsted County is seeking public input to help shape the future of its parks through a community survey. The county is currently updating its park master plans and wants to ensure local voices are reflected in the process.
“Our goal is to make our parks better, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone,” said Olmsted County Parks and Trails Director Karlin Ziegler. “By involving the community in this planning process, we can ensure county parks reflect the needs and priorities of the people who use them.”
The survey is available digitally in the following languages:
Paper copies of the survey will also be available at Olmsted County parks and community events throughout the summer, including Thursdays Downtown and the Olmsted County Fair.
Feedback collected through the survey will play a key role in shaping the final park master plans. These master plans will serve as long-term planning documents to guide the parks’ development over the next few years. This includes improvements to park amenities, natural areas, and overall visitor experience.
The survey will remain open through August 31, 2025. Olmsted County Parks and Trails hopes to have updated park master plans by early 2026.
In addition to the survey, Olmsted County will host open house events later this summer and fall to gather additional feedback.
“Your voice matters,” said Ziegler. “Whether you’re a frequent park user or someone with ideas about how we can improve access and enjoyment, we want to hear from you.”
