Family child care licensing fees

In 2024, Olmsted County is NOT collecting licensing fees for providers as these fees are covered by the Department of Human Services.

There is a fee per licensing year. The initial licensing period is for one year and then every two years after successful completion of the first year. The entire amount must be paid in full for initial licensing or relicensing to be complete. The licensing fee is nonrefundable. To view fee information, please use the Fee Finder tool on the Olmsted County fee webpage and search for the fee you are inquiring about.

Olmsted County Finance will send out a relicensing invoice about 45 days prior to your license expiring. Payment is “due upon receipt” of the invoice. Payment should be sent directly to the Finance Department as directed on the invoice. We will not be doing a licensing visit until full payment is received. Checks or money orders need to be made payable to “Olmsted County Health, Housing, & Human Services.” We are unable to accept credit card or debit card payments.
