The Rochester-Olmsted Council of Governments is seeking public input on various plans and policies, including the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP 2050), the Safety Action Plan, and other transportation projects in southeast Minnesota.
The Olmsted County Planning Department administers zoning, building, well and septic for various areas of Olmsted County but not the entire county. For planning/building jurisdiction information, please visit the Jurisdiction Checker to determine who to contact for permitting administration.
The Planning department provides a comprehensive approach to all phases of the planning and community development process. Services include:
- Opportunities for quality affordable housing.
- Safe water supply and sewage treatment.
- Safe and sound building structures.
- Orderly development with adequate infrastructure.
- Environmental protection.
