Media Release: Byron Minnesota Deceased Person Call

On Monday, July 17, 2023, an Olmsted County Sheriff’s Deputy received information from a concerned citizen of the Byron, Minn. community. The information was that a suspicious noise around the Byron City Hall area was heard several nights ago in the nighttime hours.

On Monday, at approximately noon, deputies searched the area, and a deceased adult male was located in the retention pond area behind City Hall. Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Southeast Regional Medical Examiners Office, responded to the scene. An autopsy will be performed.

There is no additional information at this time as this is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in Byron City Hall is encouraged to call the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office at 507-328-6800.
