Notice
Anyone who sells intoxicating liquor in Olmsted County is required first to obtain a license.
The Olmsted County Liquor Control Ordinance was updated and approved by the Olmsted County Board to become effective on January 1, 2018. This ordinance was updated to reflect changes in how a notice of violation, denial of request for exception/challenge and of a suspension or revocation of your Liquor License issued by Olmsted County may be appealed in conjunction with the Olmsted County Enforcement and Appeals Ordinance. Where to Apply
- For an establishment within the city limits, applications must be obtained and submitted to the city clerk (City Licenses)
- For an establishment or special event outside the city limits, an application must be submitted to Olmsted County.
Applications and Forms
To find your application go to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Scroll down to "Alcohol applications and forms", select "Retail" and download and complete the appropriate application.

- On Sale Liquor License - $2,850
- On Sale and Off Sale Liquor License - $3,050
- On Sale Sunday Intoxicating - $200
- Temporary On-Sale Liquor License - $100
- On Sale 3.2% Malt Beverage License - $200
- Off Sale 3.2% Malt Beverage License - $100
- Temporary 3.2% Malt Beverage License - $100
- Wine License - $ 600
