Youth Behavioral Health

Youth Behavioral Health serves Olmsted County youth, ages three to 21, and their families struggling with mental health or behavioral concerns, parent-child conflicts, truancy, or substance abuse.

Case Managers act as advocates and assist in coordinating community-based services designed to help the youth and their families improve overall functioning.

  • Neuro feedback / Bio feedback

Who Is Eligible

Children's Mental Health services are available to children ages three to 18. To qualify for services, your child must be:

  • Identified as having Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) as defined by Minnesota Statute
  • Is an Olmsted County resident
  • At risk of being placed or admitted to an in-patient or residential treatment program
  • Experiencing seriously impaired functioning at home, school or in the community as a result of their severe emotional disturbance
  • Currently involved in two or more systems of care

Intake Process

  • The family contacts the intake worker to see if they qualify for services

  • The child's current mental health assessment is preferred to assist the intake worker to determine available services
  • The intake worker will meet with the family to discuss possible services and to complete the intake process
  • If appropriate, a case manager can be assigned
