Reconstruction work on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 21 beginning August 11, 2025
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Roadway reconstruction work on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 21 is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 11, 2025. The project will consist of pavement removal, grading, draining improvements, widening of existing shoulders and ditches, and concrete surfacing. Fitzgerald Excavating & Trucking is the prime contractor on the reconstruction project.
CSAH 21 will be closed starting August 11, and an official detour will be provided as shown on the map below. The closure is anticipated to remain in place until winter suspension, which is scheduled for November 15, 2025, weather dependent. During the winter, it is anticipated the roadways will open to traffic on a gravel surface and construction will resume in spring of 2026. Residents will have access to their property in alternate directions throughout the duration of the project as grading progresses from east to west.
Reminder: Motorists are reminded to always drive with caution, and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. Please reduce your speed and proceed with caution through these work zones.
