Lake Zumbro Park boat ramp opens for Memorial Day weekend
The boat ramp at Lake Zumbro Park will be open and ready for public use beginning tomorrow evening, Friday, May 22, 2026 – just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Visitors can once again enjoy convenient access to the lake and kick off the summer just right!
To help reduce unnecessary traffic in the surrounding neighborhood, Olmsted County Parks and Trails asks visitors not to arrive at the boat launch before 5 p.m. so construction crews can finish repaving and striping the new parking lot.
The boat ramp and new parking lot are part of a larger, multi-phase improvement plan for Lake Zumbro Park.
Beginning later this summer, the county will move into Phase 2 of the park’s development. Planned enhancements include:
- Restroom buildings.
- New picnic shelter.
- Kayak kiosk and an ADA-accessible kayak and canoe launch dock.
- New fishing pier.
- Natural rock fishing platforms.
Construction during Phase 2 will occur throughout the summer; however, the remainder of the park will stay open and available for visitors to enjoy. Olmsted County is committed to maintaining access to as many recreational opportunities as possible at Lake Zumbro Park while continuing to enhance amenities for future use.
