  • News
  • May 14, 2025

Olmsted County Public Health Services, in partnership with the Southeast Minnesota TruRoots Alliance, is hosting a virtual focus group on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to gather input from prospective cannabis retail business owners. Feedback will help Olmsted County finalize its draft ordinance related to cannabis retailer operations in the county.

Individuals and organizations interested in starting or growing cannabis-related businesses in Olmsted County are welcome to participate in the focus group. This includes entrepreneurs, local investors, and community members exploring opportunities in the cannabis industry.

What will be discussed:

  • Types of cannabis retail licenses and registration preferences.
  • Desired locations for cannabis retail businesses.
  • Input on the county’s proposed cannabis retailer registration lottery process.

Participation will help shape a fair and effective local framework that reflects the needs and goals of future cannabis business owners.

For additional information, updates on the ordinance process, and answers to frequently asked questions, visit the Olmsted County webpage on cannabis regulations.
