Bringing Easter cheer to Olmsted County residents
In the spirit of Easter, employees from Olmsted County’s Health, Housing, and Human Services division are spreading joy to those they serve by distributing Easter baskets generously donated by a local resident and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. More than 200 children and teenagers will be delighted with baskets brimming with candy, toys, and books, all made possible through this collective effort.
“Donating Easter baskets has been a cherished tradition for our organization for more than two decades,” shared Beta Sigma Phi member Sherri Bowe. “It’s a service project close to our hearts, and we owe its success to the support of our community.”
Throughout the year, friends of the sorority contribute stuffed bunnies to enhance each basket, while local businesses provide monetary donations to ensure each basket is filled with candy and other gifts.
“These gift baskets are a sense of joy for the families we serve,” said Olmsted County Volunteer Services Coordinator Diane Tradup. “Our employees enjoy delivering them and witnessing the happiness they bring. This initiative embodies the true essence of Easter – a season of giving, empathy, and collective action to uplift others. We are extremely grateful for these acts of generosity.”
If you feel inspired to contribute to future gift baskets, Beta Sigma Phi welcomes donations. Please email Diane Tradup to learn more!
