Community Testing Collaborative to move indoors on Nov. 12

Date: November 6, 2020

Contact:  Kari Etrheim, Public Information Officer | covidpio@co.olmsted.mn.us

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The last day of COVID-19 testing at Graham Park will be Nov. 14. The Community Testing Collaborative, formerly known as the Graham Park Collaborative COVID-19 Testing Site, will begin transitioning to two new indoor locations on Thursday, Nov. 12, to provide staff and patients a warmer, safer place to be tested during winter.

The location where patients will be seen will depend on whether they are Mayo Clinic patients or Olmsted Medical Center patients:

Mayo Clinic patients

Mayo Clinic patients will be tested at the 41st Street Testing Center, 3033 41st St. NW, first floor. Patients should call their primary care provider or the Mayo Clinic COVID-19 Nurse Line at 507-293-9525 to determine if they need to be tested. Once patients arrive at the test site, they will remain in their vehicle and check in for their appointment by phone. When they can be seen, patients will receive a text message or phone call, and proceed into the building to their room. This is where swabbing will take place. This location will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Olmsted Medical Center patients

Olmsted Medical Center patients will be tested at the COVID-19 Testing Site at FastCare North, 102 Elton Hills Drive NW, Suite 200. Patients should call the COVID-19 Nurse Line at Olmsted Medical Center at 507-292-7266 to learn if they need to be tested and receive an appointment time. The nurse line is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once patients arrive at the testing location, they will remain in their vehicle and check in for their appointment by phone. When they can be seen, patients will receive a text message or phone call, and proceed into the building. This is where swabbing will take place. This location will be open 7-days a week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Primary care providers can direct patients to these new test locations, beginning Nov. 12.
If people do not have a primary care provider but are in need of testing, they should call the COVID-19 triage lines provided above for Mayo Clinic or Olmsted Medical Center. If people do not have insurance and are unable to cover the test cost, they should inquire about billing options when they call.

Test results are typically available in 24–48 hours. People will be contacted by a care provider and Olmsted County Public Health if a positive case is detected. It is important that people follow the guidance provided by Public Health and their care provider for the health and safety of the community.
