Minnesota Secretary of State recognizes Olmsted County election workers
Three Olmsted County election workers were recognized on Thursday, June 11, 2026, with the Excellence in Elections Award, presented by Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon.
The awards are part of the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State's election worker appreciation initiative, which highlights the essential contributions of election workers across Minnesota. This marks the fourth round of recognition through the statewide program.
The following Olmsted County election workers received the Excellence in Elections Award:
- William Harvey, Election Assistant
- Marlys Ohnstad, Head Election Judge
Kenneth Schultz, Election Judge
During the award presentation, Secretary Simon, Olmsted County Associate Director of Property Records and Licensing Luke Turner, and the honored election workers reflected on the important role election workers play in supporting safe, secure, and accessible elections.
