People gather for the grand opening of Mayowood Apartments in Rochester, MN.

Providing the foundation of a vibrant community is Olmsted County’s mission. The newly constructed Mayowood Apartments, located at 1025 SW Mayowood Road in Rochester, Minnesota, will help people live more vibrant lives by providing shelter and important resources.

Mayowood Apartments offer permanent supportive housing for 30 homeless adults who struggle with behavioral health issues. Comprehensive supportive services will be available on-site for all tenants, including case management, transportation, 24-hour front desk staff and advocacy, and referral to community resources.

“The opening of Mayowood Apartments shows the commitment Olmsted County, and many community partners have to address homelessness and mental health needs in our area. This complex is something very needed in our area and a positive step forward,” said Olmsted County Board of Commissioners Chair Stephanie Podulke.

The apartment complex is owned by Center City Housing Corporation. Center City Housing develops, owns, and manages affordable housing properties for people in need. Staff serve the hard-to-house, the homeless, and those with low incomes.

“Center City Housing’s dedication to providing affordable housing and support resources to people in our community is something Olmsted County is proud to support. We know a safe environment and access to health care services are vital to helping people meet their potential,” said Olmsted County Housing Director Dave Dunn.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, a grand opening celebration was held at Mayowood Apartments. Minnesota Housing Commissioner Jennifer Ho, along with other housing leaders in the state, local representatives, and members of the public were in attendance.
