  • News
  • May 28, 2024

Beginning June 1, 2024, Minnesota will introduce a permanent absentee voter list. This replaces the current process where voters with permanent absentee voter status receive an absentee ballot application in the mail for each election.

Key features of the update include:

Automated absentee ballot distribution

  • Voters with permanent absentee voter status will automatically be sent an absentee ballot 46 days before each regularly scheduled primary and General Election and each special primary and special election. If you are unsure whether you currently have permanent absentee voter status, please email or call the Olmsted County Elections Office at 507-328-7650.

Signing up

  • Complete the
    Permanent Absentee Voter Application
Return via email or mail to 2122 Campus Dr SE Suite 300 Rochester, MN 55904
