Financial workers and case aides recognized by Olmsted County
At the Olmsted County Board of County Commissioners meeting on October 5, 2021, county financial workers and case aides were recognized with a proclamation. The board declared October 13, 2021, County Financial Worker and Case Aide Day.
“Olmsted County financial workers and case aides provide outstanding service to residents through their administration of public assistance programs. They are responsible for the prudent expenditure of millions of dollars annually in the administration of their programs,” said Olmsted County Board of Commissioners Chair Stephanie Podulke.
Financial workers and case aides work with county residents in numerous ways:
- Applying for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food support.
- Applying for emergency rental assistance.
- Applying for medical assistance.
- Helping to navigate child support services.
- Applying for financial assistance for child care services.
The county’s financial workers and case aides meet high standards of job performance in determining eligibility for public assistance. Their duties require them to be well-versed in several areas to provide services to clients, our community, and the general public. They continually expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise related to their professions to meet Olmsted County residents' needs.
“Every day, the financial workers and case aides of Olmsted County’s Family Support and Assistance department uphold the goal of improving well-being, self-sufficiency, and stability for people experiencing poverty,” said Olmsted County Director of Family Support and Assistance (FSA) Corrine Erickson.
