Olmsted County signs agreement with RAEDI to solicit development proposals for former Seneca property

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners signed an agreement to have Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc. (RAEDI) serve as the county’s redevelopment consultant with respect to the Seneca Property owned by the county.

RAEDI will partner with the county to develop and execute a Statement of Interest (SOI) process to solicit development proposals and evaluate the highest and best use, with RAEDI providing expertise and capacity to the county.

“This agreement combines our organizational strengths to advance a significant development opportunity. We look forward to working with Olmsted County to make that happen,” said RAEDI President John Wade.

The process will be open-ended and transparent at the discretion of the county and all decisions regarding any development to take place on the site will be at the county’s discretion.

“We want to ensure the development proposals for this property serve the needs of our community,” said Olmsted County Deputy Administrator Pete Giesen. “RAEDI has the expertise to perform the necessary tasks needed by the county to serve as a redevelopment consultant.”

The SOI process will begin in March 2022 and be completed in July 2022.
