Olmsted County 2022 Resident Survey

Olmsted County residents are encouraged to participate in the 2022 Olmsted County Resident Survey. On February 4, 2022, 4,200 surveys will be mailed to 600 randomized households in each commissioner district – some will receive a mailed survey, and some will receive a postcard with a weblink to take the survey online. Survey instructions will be provided in English, Spanish, and Somali; if residents need to take the survey in a different language, they will be directed to a website to complete the survey.

Olmsted County conducts its resident survey approximately every three years and has done so since 2008. Questions are related to quality of life, safety, areas of concern, satisfaction with Olmsted County government, how residents receive information from Olmsted County government, and more.

“Understanding residents’ needs is important to Olmsted County,” said Olmsted County Board of Commissioners Chair Mark Thein. “Through this survey, we are able to get a pulse on residents’ thoughts and perceptions of life in Olmsted County as well as their experience with Olmsted County government.”

Thein says the Olmsted County Resident Survey helps the county understand how it can contribute to making Olmsted County a better place to live, play, and work.

“It also helps us get a better understanding of how we can enhance the delivery of specific county government programs and services,” Thein continued.

Survey results will be compiled by summer 2022 and shared with the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners. After that, the county will develop action plans based on findings from the survey. Survey results will also be made available to the public. Look for additional communications about the 2022 Olmsted County Resident Survey in the coming weeks and months.
