Olmsted County completes Board Room upgrades
Olmsted County has completed construction on the upgraded Board Room at the Government Center, marking a significant milestone in a broader facility improvement project designed to enhance accessibility, technology, and the county’s overall public meeting experience.
The renovated space will be reopened for meeting use on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. On that date, the following meetings will be held in the Board Room:
- Physical Development Committee – 8 a.m.
- Health, Housing, & Human Services Committee – 9:30 a.m.
- Olmsted County Board of Commissioners – 11 a.m.
- Administrative Committee – 1 p.m.
During construction, Olmsted County board and committee meetings were temporarily held at 2100 Campus Drive SE in Rochester.
The Board Room construction project included a complete replacement of the room’s aging audiovisual system with modern, digital technology that improves sound and video quality, enhances hybrid meeting functionality, and strengthens livestreaming and captioning services. Accessibility upgrades were also incorporated, including improved hearing assistance technology and optimized lighting.
In addition to technology improvements, the room was refreshed with new carpeting, window treatments, and lighting to create a brighter, more comfortable environment for both meeting participants and the public.
