Olmsted County to hold mass COVID-19 vaccination clinics for individuals in 1A-3
Contact: Kari Etrheim, Public Information Officer, COVID-19 Response, covidpio@co.olmsted.mn.us
Olmsted County Public Health Services (OCPHS) is collaborating with Olmsted Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, several additional Olmsted County Departments, City of Rochester, Rochester Police Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, and Rochester Community and Technical College to vaccinate up to 2,200 individuals in the last priority group, Phase 1A-3. Clinics will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 5 and 6, 2021. This is the first mass vaccination COVID-19 clinic offered by OCPHS.
“We appreciate the State allocating a significant amount of vaccine allowing us to reach more people in the 1A priority group,” said OCPHS Operations Chief for COVID-19 Response Daniel Jensen.
The clinic will provide vaccination to home health, adult foster care, group homes, E-12 school staff, clergy making community visits, childcare providers, and health professional students doing clinicals. Only individuals who have been invited and pre-registered for a vaccination time slot, through a secure registration link, can come to the clinic. Vaccine inventory remains limited and not everyone part of these groups could be scheduled for these clinics. Those not registered will be turned away.
These clinics will help vaccinate more individuals within Phase 1A and allow us to offer future vaccinations more broadly to schools, child care, older adults, and others as identified by the state.
