Olmsted County unveils new, modern, mobile-friendly website

Designed to deliver high-quality service

After launching a new logo earlier this year, Olmsted County has now unveiled a redesigned website with a new URL that’s easier to remember – www.olmstedcounty.gov.

“Our website is one of the primary tools Olmsted County residents and visitors use to access county information, resources, and assistance,” said Olmsted County Director of Policy, Analysis, and Communications Debra Ehret Miller. “We gathered input from individuals who interact with the county in multiple ways to help us design our site and make it as effective as possible. After months of behind the scenes work, it’s exciting see the new site debut. It is inviting, easier to use, and designed to deliver high-quality service to Olmsted County residents and clients.”

Olmsted County Director of Information Technology Solutions Matt Peabody said that more than half of people access the Olmsted County website with a mobile device, so the new site was developed with that in mind.

“The site empowers Olmsted County residents to receive services, do business, and engage with current county initiatives anywhere,” explained Peabody.

Other benefits of the new Olmsted County website:

  • Content is concise and structured to help answer common questions.
  • It’s easy to take action from the site via a mobile device (links to maps, tap to call, etc.).
  • Photos and images throughout the site have been updated to more accurately represent the Olmsted County of today.

“Olmsted County is committed to providing the foundation of a vibrant community,” stated Olmsted County Deputy Administrator Pete Giesen. “Our new website delivers on that mission and our drive to provide innovative solutions to improve our residents’ quality of life.”

If you happen to have the old Olmsted County URL bookmarked or set as a favorite on your device, that URL will redirect you indefinitely to www.olmstedcounty.gov. However, all Olmsted County residents are encouraged to favorite the new URL for easy access to the latest Olmsted County news and information.
