County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 18 reconstruction beginning July 20, 2026.
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Roadway reconstruction work on Olmsted County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 18 and Wabasha CSAH 1 is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 20, 2026. This is a joint project between Olmsted and Wabasha Counties, which will consist of pavement removal, grading, widening of existing shoulders and ditches, and bituminous surfacing. Midwest Contracting is the prime contractor on the reconstruction project.
Olmsted CSAH 18/Wabasha CSAH 1 will be closed starting July 20, and an official detour will be provided as shown on the map below. The closure is anticipated to remain in place until winter suspension, weather dependent. During the winter, it is anticipated the roadways will open to traffic on a gravel surface and construction will resume in spring of 2027. Residents will have access to their property throughout the duration of the project.
