We Are Water MN exhibit will visit Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo

Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo is excited to host the We Are Water MN traveling exhibit from February 25 through April 20, 2026. This interactive exhibit invites visitors to explore the vital role water plays in our lives, our communities, and our environment. 

We Are Water MN is a statewide partnership that deepens connections between Minnesotans and the water we rely on. Host sites focus on sharing information through storytelling, science, and community engagement. Visitors will learn about water issues across Minnesota and in their own community. They will also have an opportunity to reflect on personal experiences and share their own stories. 

“We’re thrilled to bring the We Are Water MN exhibit to Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo,” said Parks and Trails Director Karlin Ziegler. “Water connects all of us. This exhibit is a unique opportunity for our community to explore those connections and learn how we can protect this vital resource for future generations.” 

Kickoff weekend event – February 28, 2026 

Workshop on Wheels Metal Mobile Lab and Show 
Join Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo for a kickoff event on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. at the nature center. The Workshop on Wheels Metal Mobile Lab & Show team will co-host. They lead a hands-on activity where participants can melt pewter and pour it into water or animal molds to create unique art pieces such as keychains or necklaces. The event is free and open to anyone five and older and will be held indoors.

Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo will host a variety of programs during the We Are Water MN exhibit, including: 

• March 14, 2026: Rochester Public Library Water Science Discovery 
• March 15, 2026: Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota at 10:30 a.m. 
• March 21, 2026: Quarry Hill Nature Center – Turtle presentation 
• April 4, 2026: Presentation by Author Andrew Pruett on his book Shaped By Water 
• April 11, 2026: Presentation by Olmsted Soil & Water Conservation District and the Southeastern Minnesota Water Analysis Laboratory 
• April 12, 2026: Minnesota Department of Natural Resources presentation on invasive species 
• April 18, 2026: Meet the otters photo opportunity and presentation 
• April 19, 2026: National Eagle Center programs at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m.
