New interview schedule for 2024

As communicated in January, Olmsted County made changes to its advisory board recruitment and interview process effective with the 2024 calendar year.

What changed?

  • In-person interviews of potential advisory board candidates will occur twice a year; for 2024, interviews take place in April and October. Previously, advisory board candidates were interviewed throughout the year when there was an advisory board opening available.
  • In-person interviews of advisory board candidates will happen outside of county board meetings. Previously, advisory board applicants were interviewed during county board meetings.
  • The full board won’t be interviewing candidates; just two commissioners will take part in the interview process.

Why did Olmsted County change the advisory board interview schedule?

Olmsted County made this change to streamline the process and be more flexible with potential advisory board candidates, so they don’t need to take time off work to be interviewed during county board meetings.
