Olmsted County and our partner agencies are monitoring the winter storm and blizzard warnings in effect Wednesday, December 21, through Saturday, December 24, 2022. We are expecting to see accumulating snow, strong winds, difficult travel conditions, and dangerous wind chills.
Each year, Olmsted County hosts the Adopt a Family program to help bring holiday cheer to individuals and families in the area. The long-cherished community tradition helps eligible families served within Health, Housing, and Human Services by providing holiday gifts to them.
Olmsted County has partnered with Cascade Township and Zumbro Ridge Estates (ZRE), a manufactured home community, to provide funds for improvements to the wastewater system at ZRE.
The Olmsted County Board of Commissioners will be holding their twice monthly public board meetings at different times beginning in 2023. The first meeting of the month will be held at 10 a.m. (was 9 a.m.), and the second meeting of the month will occur at 6 p.m. (was 3 p.m.).
The approved 2022- 2032 Solid Waste Management Plan will serve as a roadmap to capture value from waste produced by the community. It enhances existing programs and paves the way toward a more sustainable future by implementing strategies that will achieve positive environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
Olmsted County’s 2023 budget was approved by the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners on December 20, 2022.
Friends of Oxbow was recently awarded $100,000 of grant funding by Mayo Clinic to support its fundraising efforts for the new Oxbow Park nature center in Byron, Minnesota.
