Olmsted County only approves variances to the following family child care licensing rule
Call our agency at 507-328-6140 and ask to speak to a Child Care licensor to make a complaint.
After 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday, weekends, and holidays contact a Crisis Worker at 507-535-5625 or Law Enforcement at 507-328-6800 to make a report. The licensor will help you determine if your complaint is a licensing violation or a parent/provider issue. She/he will tell you how the complaint will be addressed.

The way providers care for children and guide their growth will be a part of shaping their future. Olmsted County has over 300 licensed family child care providers.

Earlier this year, Olmsted County received $19.1 million in funds as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Other jurisdictions in the county had approximately $290,000 in unused CARES Act funds that were turned over to the county to be spent on COVID-19-related initiatives. Over the past several months, Olmsted County has used these funds to adapt to providing services in a COVID-19 environment and help individuals and families in our communities facing hardships due to the pandemic.
