Passport - Current updates

To apply for a passport in our office you will need to access our online check-in below. 

Go to: Olmsted County online passport check-in

  • Receive your appointment with an approximate arrival time.
  • Gather all your required documents.
  • Come to the Olmsted County Government Center at your appointed time.
  • Check in at the Information Desk.

Before beginning your application process, we will ask you four questions:

  1. Did you bring proof of U.S. citizenship?
  2. Did you bring a current valid ID?
  3. Did you bring a check or money order?
  • There are two separate payments required when you apply.
  • One check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State. This payment cannot be cash or credit card.
  • One payable to Olmsted County which can be cash, check, money order or credit card.

Unacceptable forms of payment:

  • Stamps, universal and counter checks or "starter checks" (temporary checks normally given to customers who have recently opened a new checking account), or other forms of payment that do not meet the criteria stated above.
