Welcome to Olmsted County, MN

At the September 16, 2025 Olmsted County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board certified the preliminary 2026 levy for Olmsted County and the Olmsted County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA).  The 2026 preliminary property tax levy for Olmsted County and the HRA combined totals $147,282,183. This will be funded with county and HRA property taxes of $141,713,639 and $5,568,544, respectively. 

Olmsted County continues its Aaa credit rating streak – the highest possible rating – from Moody’s Investors Service.  These credit ratings equate to significant taxpayer savings by lowering the cost of borrowing for the county.   
  

Olmsted County will be interviewing candidates for open advisory board positions during October 2025. Currently, Olmsted County has openings on the following advisory boards/commissions: Chester Heights Sewer District Advisory Board, Extension Committee, Planning Advisory Commission/Zoning Board of Adjustment, and the Sheriff’s Civil Service Commission.
