Welcome to Olmsted County, MN

Shannon DeHeve is a former participant in the Dodge & Olmsted (D&O) Community Corrections probation program. Through D&O Community Corrections, DeHeve received support from her probation officer, Jenna McMillan, and connected services including treatment for co‑occurring disorders, long‑term sober living, outpatient care, and mental health support. 

Olmsted County continues to make steady progress on the new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), funded in part by $10 million from the State of Minnesota’s 2023 capital investment bill. The MRF is being built as an adjoining facility next to the Olmsted Waste-to-Energy Facility (OWEF) and will play a major role in strengthening our regional recycling system.

Ensuring environmental sustainability is one of Olmsted County’s five strategic priorities. To ensure our organization continues to lead in sustainable practices, the county hired its first-ever Sustainability Coordinator – Lorenzo Muñoz – in January 2026.
