Olmsted County celebrates County, City, Tribal, and State Health and Human Services Worker Day

Olmsted County is celebrating Wednesday, December 14, 2022, as County, City, Tribal, and State Health and Human Services Worker Day. The Olmsted County Board of Commissioners, alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, set aside this day to recognize all the incredible work completed by these workers on a daily basis to keep our communities safe and healthy.

On this day, we celebrate the dedication of Olmsted County employees who improve our health, protect vulnerable people, and provide outstanding public services. Their work is essential to the well-being of our communities.

“We celebrate those whose profession it is to dedicate themselves to ensuring sound health and safety for our county. Our employees provide high-quality service with care to the community and deliver innovative solutions to improve residents’ quality of life,” said Olmsted County Board of Commissioners Chair Mark Thein. “It is critical that this important work does not go unnoticed.”

Olmsted County employees and other government workers at the state, county, city, and tribal levels are responsible for the prudent expenditure of millions of dollars annually. They must meet the highest standards of job performance in program and service delivery.

“The health and human services staff at Olmsted County and across our state who contribute so much to our communities are greatly appreciated. They provide essential programs and services that help community members,” said Olmsted County Deputy Administrator Travis Gransee. “We honor their incredible dedication to keeping the community safe and providing pathways to health, housing, and well-being.”
