Join meeting of local Mental Health Advisory Council on November 9, 2023

  • News
  • Oct 30, 2023

Do you live with a mental illness or have a family member who does? Share your experience and knowledge by joining the Olmsted County Adult Mental Health Local Advisory Council! An informational meeting is being held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 12:30 to 2 pm. at Family Service Rochester (4600 18th Ave NW, Rochester). A light lunch and refreshments will be available.

Local Mental Health Advisory Councils (LACs) offer individuals, parents, and mental health service providers the opportunity to make a real difference in how mental health care is provided in the community. LACs advise counties, county boards, and community leaders on a range of mental health-related topics, offering local and state policymakers the wisdom of those who experience mental health concerns firsthand. Most LAC members are individuals with lived experience with mental illness and their family members.

The Olmsted County Adult Mental Health Local Advisory Council is restarting after being on a pandemic hiatus. Participating in a LAC is a way to use your experience and knowledge to create a better mental health care system.
