Visit with Olmsted County at Thursdays Downtown Aug. 3 and 10
There are two more opportunities to catch Olmsted County at Thursdays Downtown this summer – August 3 and August 10, 2023! On August 3 from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., representatives from Olmsted County’s diversity, equity, and inclusion team – One Olmsted – will be at the booth located on 1st Avenue North.
What is One Olmsted?
One Olmsted is Olmsted County's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative. It originated from a resolution passed by the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners in 2017 formalizing Olmsted County's commitment to health, social, and racial equity as guiding priorities and values.
One Olmsted's mission is to eliminate disparities and create equitable outcomes for everyone in Olmsted County through our commitment to diversity and inclusion and development of strong community partnerships.
One Olmsted seeks to:
- Ensure an inclusive workforce environment to retain staff and support staff learning and development through awareness and education opportunities.
- Ensure Olmsted County services to residents are equitable, that barriers are reduced, and are provided in an environment that promotes inclusiveness.
- Build teams that represent community demographics.
Community involvement
One Olmsted is often at community events to spread awareness. Find them at community events such as:
- Rochester Welcomes You
- Rochester Pride
- Community Juneteenth celebration
- NAMI mental health walk
- MLK Jr. annual breakfast
- Welcoming Week: Citizenship event
And be sure to stop by the One Olmsted booth at Thursdays Downtown on August 3, 2023.
