Olmsted County and Rochester residents are invited and encouraged to take part in the 2022 redistricting process. This includes participating in upcoming virtual listening sessions, which begin on December 14, 2021.

Olmsted County offices will be closed Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26 in observation of Thanksgiving. Normal business hours will resume Monday, November 29. Have a safe and happy holiday!

On Monday, November 22, 2021, Viv Williams from the Post Bulletin moderated a forum with OCPHS Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Amy Evans, Olmsted Medical Center Pediatrician Dr. Peter Arndt, and Mayo Clinic Pediatrician Dr. Robert Jacobson. The three speakers gathered to address the importance of adding the 5- to 11- year-old population into the county’s vaccinated group.

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) endorsed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) expanded the use of booster doses for COVID-19 vaccines to all adults. The FDA’s authorization and CDC’s recommendation for use are the critical next steps forward in providing increased protection against COVID-19 disease and death.

The Monday before Thanksgiving is reserved as Public Health Thank You Day. On this day, we express gratitude for our Olmsted County Public Health Services (OCPHS) team and the vital role they play in protecting and improving the health of all people and communities within our county.

After serving as the director of Olmsted County Public Health Services for the past three years, Graham Briggs has decided to leave his position in Olmsted County to pursue other opportunities.
