Welcome to Olmsted County, MN

Every year, Olmsted County releases its Budget in Brief to offer a snapshot of the work we do, the services we provide, and the goals we’re pursuing in the year ahead. While it doesn’t capture every detail or break down every dollar, it’s designed to give you a quick, easy-to-understand overview of how we’re investing in our community.

Olmsted County is home to diverse communities who contribute to the strength, well-being, and future of our region. Among those communities is a vibrant Somali population, whose presence, culture, and commitment to family, work, and service enrich our community in countless ways.

Olmsted County, in partnership with 10 other counties in Southeast Minnesota, has received a County Achievement Award for its leadership in creating a regional population health data model. This award from the Association of Minnesota Counties recognizes valuable innovations and improvements in county government.
