Zoning Board of Adjustment
The Olmsted County Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) consists of five members, with one member also being a member of the Planning Advisory Commission, has the authority to grant variances to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance under certain conditions. The board is also responsible for hearing and deciding any appeals from a decision or interpretation of the zoning administrator with regards to the enforcement of the zoning ordinance. Regular meetings of the ZBA are held the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 2122 Campus Dr SE in Conference Room A.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment is established in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Section 394.27 and as hereafter amended. The Board consists of five members, appointed by the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners. The Ordinance requires that at least one member shall be a member of the Planning Advisory Commission and one member shall be a member of a Township Board.
The Board of Adjustment has the authority to grant variances to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance under certain conditions. The Board is also responsible for hearing and deciding any appeals from a decision or interpretation of the Zoning Administrator with regards to the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment shall act upon all questions as they may arise in the administration of the Olmsted County Zoning Ordinance; and it shall hear and decide appeals from, and review any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official charged with enforcing the zoning ordinance.
