Ways to Vote Absentee In Olmsted County
Absentee by mail:
Sign and return an absentee ballot request form as soon as you can to ensure you receive your ballot timely and your vote is counted on Election Day. You may also apply online at mnvotes.org. Your ballot will be sent via US Postal Service after the early absentee voting period begins. You may send your ballot back to us via mail or drop it off in person at the absentee voting office (2122 Campus Dr. SE, Suite 300, Rochester, MN).
Vote in person at the Olmsted County Elections Office (2122 Campus Dr. SE, Rochester, MN). Completing an absentee application in advance will reduce your time in line but it is not required. In person voting is open Monday-Friday starting 46 days prior to an election.
Absentee in-person direct balloting:
Direct balloting starts 7 days prior to an election. You will be able to vote your ballot directly into a tabulator or use the absentee envelopes. Complete an absentee application and bring it to the Elections Office (2122 Campus Dr. SE, Rochester, MN) or the Government Center (151 4th St. SE, Rochester, MN) to vote in person.
