To protect the public's health, Olmsted County's Environmental Health staff provides residents a range of services. We work with:
- Business owners to identify and resolve health risks in public facilities. These facilities include food service (restaurants, cafeterias, special event food stands, and others), lodging, public swimming pools, manufactured home parks, and campgrounds. Employees review plans for new facilities before construction.
- Members of the public through investigating reports of foodborne illness, responding to complaints about public facilities and public health nuisance conditions, consult on indoor air & vector-borne disease prevention including Lyme Disease, and coordinating clean-up of former methamphetamine labs.
- We offer testing services for drinking water and radon.
